Why Big Sis Thriftz?
Being the oldest of four children, I've always carried this matriarchal role in my family. I was "Big Sis," and it was my responsibility to look after my siblings when my parents weren't able to. This role has transpired into so many relationships in my life. It has taught me how to love deeply, and nurture those that I care most about.
Growing up, we didn't have much; neither one of my parents came from a wealthy background. They struggled a lot during my childhood, but somehow we never noticed. We always had enough.
Often times for fun, my mother would take us thrift shopping and from an early age I fell in love with clothes. Supposedly as a young girl, I would change my outfits multiple times a day; that's when my mom knew she was in trouble lol.
As a teenager, my sister and I would constantly steal each-others clothes, causing countless riots before school.
Fastforward to adulthood, my family still raids my closet, and makes my clothes their own.
The concept of Big Sis Thriftz? Stop stealing from your sister's closet and shop with me!
Fashion is art. It has helped me become more self expressive, and explore my own personal style. Shopping secondhand is not only better for the planet, but these pieces tell storIes while capturing the essence of people long before us.
All garments are sustainably sourced, one of a kind, and handpicked with you in mind.
I challenge you to pick pieces that make you look, and feel your personal best. When we're confident in ourselves, we show up in the world differently.
Thank you for supporting me on this journey. xoxo, Big Sis <3
